Vodpod videos no longer available.Paul Newman was remembered yesterday as a blue-eyed matinee idol who defied typecasting to play loners, miscreants and hustlers, a man who capitalized on his fame to raise millions for terminally ill children.
Newman died Friday at age 83 at his farmhouse near Westport, Conn., following a long battle with cancer, publicist Jeff Sanderson said. He was surrounded by his family and close friends.
